Lindsy Hengesbach graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and graduated from Michigan State University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. She is also certified as a Specialist in Molecular Biology by the National Credentialing Agency (CLSp(MB)). Mrs. Hengesbach gained clinical experience at the Michigan Department of Community Health Infectious Disease Division in the HIV Unit where she performed serological, molecular, and flow cytometric analysis on patient samples to assess response to treatment Her Master’s research, in conjunction with Dr. Kathy Hoag, involved assessing the effect of retinoic acid on the development and maturation of dendritic cells in vitro. Recent accomplishments include the 2008 MSCLS Key to the Future Award and the 2009 MSCLS Omicron Sigma Award. Currently Lindsy serves as instructor for several undergraduate molecular diagnostic courses as well as the clinical coordinator for the Diagnostic Molecular Science Program.
